General Summary/Objective:

The SQL Developer will be responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining SQL-based applications and databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SQL programming, database design, and data management principles.

Duties/Responsibilities:       

  1. Develop SQL scripts and queries for database creation, modification, and retrieval.
  2. Design and implement database structures, tables, indexes, and constraints.
  3. Optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
  4. Troubleshoot database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
  5. Ensure data integrity and security through effective access controls and encryption techniques.
  6. Collaborate with software developers and stakeholders to understand database requirements and application integration.
  7. Create and maintain technical documentation related to databases and SQL scripts.
  8. Perform database maintenance tasks, including backups and restores with different recovery models.
  9. Stay updated with database technologies and trends, recommending improvements and best practices.

Qualifications

Education required:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a SQL Developer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and database management.
  • Solid understanding of database design principles, including normalization and indexing.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with database tools for schema design, data modeling, and version control.
  • Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), preferably with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with reporting; must understand business concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Location:

* Florida preferred, or remote US for the right candidate. Occasional travel to the office.

Physical Demands and Environment:    

Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions may include the wrists, hands, and fingers. Occasionally moves computer equipment weighing less than 10 pounds. Standard, quiet office environment.

Travel: 

Occasional travel to the Ft. Lauderdale office may be required, even for 100% telecommuting employees.  Occasional travel may also be needed for industry conferences and/or training.

Salary/Exempt Status: 

$120,000/Exempt
